Fiberglass
Examples of where you might find fiberglass:
- Cooler walls
- Countertops
Notes about the surface:
- Fiberglass is melted sand mixed with resin. It may be damaged by long exposure to sunlight and can be easily scratched.
- Rivets and seals between sheets need to be installed correctly and maintained so that they are smooth and free of damage to prevent moisture or harborage of potential pathogens.
- Gel-coated, reinforced fiberglass panels are recommended because when properly installed and maintained, they provide a continuous, hard, durable, and cleanable surface. Damaged fiberglass does not provide these benefits.
